You can pay more and get one with WWII dated parts and possible history, probably not the best for competition due to value. They probably will not go down in value (unless made by bubba and so appearing). You can buy a Mosin Nagant with a PU scope for less, but it probably won't match these for being 'made by Soviets as a sniper', condition or overall value. If I recall, the scopes are post-war, these were assembled by the Soviets for sniper use, post war, and placed in storage, so they are 'authentic' for what they are. For buying one to shoot, to shoot accurately, and maybe tune, develop a handload, and compete in vintage sniper competitions these seem to be a great starting point. Most who receive them seem to think they received what they ordered, in a condition as good or better than expected, and are happy with their purchases. The ones AIM is selling are discussed on many forums, even this one, so take a look. They also were not made from 'regular' Mosin Nagants by some guy in his garage.Дon't know what an 'Ivy' is, so can't comment. These are not WWII issue, not refurbished since. Finally I need to know if CMP will ever have m16's, berettas, or 1911's. Oh.and I am wanting to now about the return of M1 Carbines and Korean imports. Talk me out of buying this so I don't have to explain what an investment it is to the wife.

Plus I think a Garand may have higher resale value down the road. What are your collective thoughts on these Mosin Nagant Snipers? Are these the real deal holyfield or reproduction force matched fakes? Should I get a Tula or an Ivy?Are these even worth it? 600.00 is a lot to spend for something I probably won't shoot much.

I don't think they'll go sky-high in price ever, but would be worth owning. If you can afford it, a Swedish M41B is probably a better collectors piece, but the 91/30SVM is definately a nice historical piece to add to your arsenal. Original sniper rifles are getting scarce, and they're not making any more. You never know with combloc stuff though, somebody might find 100,000 of them in a warehouse in Estonia and then they will sell for $300. They are as close to an as-issued WWII SVM as we are likely to see. Collectors seem to favor Tulas.that would translate into a slight premium in price and easier resale. Shooting and quality wise, there will be little difference between Tula and Ishevsk.

They are exactly what would have been issued to Russian snipers if the East and West had come to blows before full deployment of the SVD sniper rifle. You will likely get some refinished or force match parts but the scope and mount will match the rifle (wouldn't hurt to hand select for it). From what I've heard, they are original WWII sniper rifles that were refurbed mostly intact after WWII.
